Geocache Description:

Park by the Wairau rowing club and go for a gentle walk down onto the grass area on the river side of the Rowing club to find the start of the track.

The Grovetown Lagoon is an oxbow lake that was formed when a flood changed the path of the river. Many streams and springs feed this lake and there are pumps at each end to keep the level from flooding the Island.

Enjoy a wander through these trees that have been planted here to bring more native birds to the area and create a home for them. You may be joined by some Piwiwaka (Fantail). There are helpful tree detail boards posted along the way.

Beware of the white baiters that may be watching during some seasons.

When placed, had pleanty of swaps.
