Geocache Description:

Set after my event close by, this cache is kindly being maintained by Finlay & His Drudge.

To locate this Puzzle cache, there's no need to visit the posted co-ords, although there is a view of them from the cache location. This is Castle Stalker, which has had a very busy history - not least starring in the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail as Castle Aaaagh, final resting place of the Holy Grail.

No, what you'll need to do is considerably sillier. You'll need to watch the film - or at least know it gosh-darn well.

The cache is at N56 34.AAB W005 2C.DEF where:

A tis... Just a Flesh Wound. How many words are spoken by The Black Knight in his first line of dialogue to King Arthur?

B is... No Shrubberies Here! How many times does the Old Crone use a cat to beat - whatever that is she's beating with a cat - after Arthur has met the Knights who say Ni and is searching for a shrubbery?

C is... The Gorge of Eternal Peril. How many questions are *correctly* answered by Sir Galahad at the Bridge of Death?

D is... How Dare you Defame this Place with your Presence? How many words are in the French insult following "...and call your door-opening request a silly thing"? (Tiny Brained is not hyphonated and is thus two words.)

E is... There are some who call me... Tim. How many explosions (heard as well as seen) does Tim the Enchanter cause before he 'teleports' to the Knights? (Include the final big one as he vanishes as the last one.)

F is... Brave Concord! The number of letters in the name of the Castle (excluding the word Castle!) where Sir Launcelot runs amok, hoping to rescue a princess.

The answers can be found online as well as by watching the film. Good luck with your quest! Parking can be found close by.

Suggestion: This could be your chance to reenact your favourite scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. "What, the curtains?" "Vast... Tracts of land" "Bad Zoot! Naughty Zoot!" "'Tis a silly place." "Ni!" And of course, a chance to play Sir Not Appearing In This Film if you'd rather.

Why it was set: Because, along with a cave above Loch Tay and Doune Castle, this is a key filming location for the 1975 epic, Monty Python and The Holy Grail. I visited the area in 2011 and looked across to the castle with envious eyes and since I'd a chance to actually visit in this year - the 40th anniversary of the film - well, who could resist? Perhaps Harry 'Snapper' Organs, but I can't think of anyone else.

Additional information: The castle is occassionally open for brave souls to visit (at a cost, and pre-booked) if you're interested, but this cache is Not on the island or anywhere private, and thus available all cachers, be they Silly English K-nigits, French, Witches ("It's a fair cop") or wheelchair users.

Finally, please don't post spoiler pictures. There's access to other, even better views of the castle from GZ. Feel free to upload photos from there instead. Thanks!

Look! What does it say? What language is that? Brother Maynard, you're our scholar. It is Aramaic! Of course. Joseph of Arimathea! -Of course. -What does it say? It reads, "Here may be found... "...the last words of Joseph of Arimathea: "'He who is valiant and pure of spirit... "'...may find the Holy Grail... "'...in the Castle of Aaargh."' What? "The Castle of Aaargh." What is that? He must have died while carving it. -Oh come on! -That's what it says. Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't bother to carve 'Aaargh.' He'd just say it. -That's what's carved in the rock. -Perhaps he was dictating. -Oh shut up! -Does it say anything else? -No! Just 'Aaargh.' Aaargh. Do you suppose he meant the Camargue? -Where's that? -ln France, I think. -lsn't there a St. Aaargh's in Cornwall? -No, that's St. Ives. Oh yes. St. Iiiiiives. Oooooh! No, 'Aaargh.' At the back of the throat. No, Ooooh, in surprise and alarm! -You mean a sort of a "Ah!" -Yes, that's right. My God! It's the Legendary Black Beast of Aaargh! That's it! Run away! Run away! Keep running... We've lost him. V/O: As the horrendous Black Beast lunged forward... ...escape for Arthur and his knights seemed hopeless. When, suddenly, the animator suffered a fatal heart attack. The cartoon peril was no more. The quest for the Holy Grail could continue...
