American Girl Traditional Cache

The geocache is a small, clear container with room for a log and small trade items.  BYOP.  Cache is located on a walking trail a short walk from a nearby park where there is plenty of parking.

This geocache is on the walking trail across the street from Eldridge Park.  The trail runs between Grand Central Ave and Lake Street.  There is parking at Eldridge Park.  A short walk down the trail will get you to the cache.  The geocache is a small clear tube with a log and room for small trade items.  BYOP.  Once to the area your geo senses should kick in.  

The Geocache is named in honor of the former race horse by the same name that died on this site around 1875.  The geocache location is surrounded by a swamp.  The swamp use to be a driving range and race track for horses.  There was a statue that was dedicated to the horse around 1876.  The statue remained in place until 1980 when it was vandalized.  A recent project by the Eldridge Park Carousel society has restored the original statue.   If time allows stop over to Eldridge Park when the amusement park is open and read through the complete history of American Girl.  The statue is currently located inside the back of the carousel building.  While there enjoy a ride on the carousel or one of the other rides.  They have a small dining area as well.  Additionally there is an old fashioned aracade and mini golf course.  It's a fun area for all ages.  Enjoy the park and happy geocaching.
