Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches around Santa Maria meant to point out unique or historical locations around the city.  This one is at the Santa Maria Inn.  Because of its hide location, stealth will be imperative.  Bring a pen/pencil to sign the log, tweezers, your stealth skills and geo-senses.  Please be careful with the cache hide spot and try not to be spotted retrieving/replacing the cache.

This is the historical and world famous Santa Maria Inn, another one of Santa Maria's historical landmark locations; number 6 to be exact.  There is a landmark plaque right in front of the building.  This Inn was built by Frank J. McCoy and opened its doors on May 16th, 1917, with 24 rooms and baths.  This Inn was also the first location of KCOY, a pioneer radio station.  According to the plaque, the Inn became a huge social influence, attracting the elite and famous.

Check out the plaque while your here, and then sit down for a rest with another weary traveller at the cache spot!  Since parking lot parking is for patrons only, best parking is on the side of the building along the road.  This one gets a bit of a difficulty boost due to the stealth requirement. Happy Caching!

Congrats to Mugger52 for your FTF!
