The annual Yass Billy Cart Derby was reborn in 2010. The significant effort in re-establishing this fabulous event, plus the ongoing running of the event is thanks to a local volunteer community organisation. Ever since 2010 the Yass Billy Cart Derby has been going strong. With categories for all ages, from youngsters to (young at heart) seniors, there is something to suit everyone and every Cart. I myself have enjoyed hurtling down the hill in our home made Billy cart (that my beloved Grandfather made) at a rate of 48/km/h, as recorded by the local constabulary. I would like to thank the dedicated volunteers who helped re-open this great event. I would also like to thank the many people who help keep the Billy Cart race up and running each year (the many volunteers who devote their time to help out and the kind farmers who deliver their hay bales to form the lanes) because without them this great day out wouldn't be able to continue.
This is the first cache I have placed so please let me know what you think and if there are any concerns you have with it let me know. Please put it back exactly as you found it.
I would like to say thank you to TheTreeWhisperer & my mum who helped me make this cache. (Some of the parts of this cache required an adults expertise)
Please feel free to include your own stories about yours, your friends etc. Homemade Billy carts and the fun you have had with them. Please note: This cache will be disabled on the weekend of Classis Yass due to the large number of people who will congregate at GZ.
Congratulations to Tanso for the First To Find
