Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Geocaches which have not been maintained or the owner has not responded will not be taken out of the archive

Geocache Description:

Grorud brannstasjon (stasjon 5), ligger på Rommen i bydel Stovner.

Dette var Oslos nyeste brannstasjon, da den ble  åpnet i okt.1973.
Da med både mannskapsbil og stigebil.

Byggning i betong, stål, aluminiumsplater og glass ble belønnet med Houens fonds diplom for god arkitektur i 1975.

Stasjonens hovedoppgaver er brannslokking, skogbrannberedskap og trafikkulykker. Grorud har forøvrig mest gress- og markbranner, og mannskapene på stasjonen får ofte nesten ikke tid til pause før en ny melding om gressbrann tikker inn.

Biler:

  • 51 – Scania mannskapsbil med vinsj og godt utstyr for trafikkulykker
  • 55 – Mercedes-Benz Unimog skogbrannbil
  • 57 – Mercedes Sprinter lett redningsbil
  • 50 – Izusu Pick-up med mobilt slukkeanlegg og bærbar pumpe
  • 5- – Argo terrengkjøretøy for skog samt mulighet for å kjøre på togskinner. Brukes ved uønskede hendelser i Romeriksporten.

T-banen linje 5 har stasjon Rommen like ved Cachen.
