The John H. Kemp home was built in approximately 1909. Kemp served as the second bishop of North Logan in the LDS Church from 1912-1941, and was Mayor from 1936-1948 (the title of President of the Board was used until it was changed to Mayor in 1939). Kemp passed away while serving as Mayor in 1948.
