Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches in Santa Maria meant to point out unique or historical locations around the city.  This one is on the border of the Minerva Club.  You can park your car along the road near the cache; plan to use some stealth as well.  Bring a pen/pencil to sign the log and your geo-senses.

The gated-off building on the other side of this fence is the Minerva Club, number 12 on Santa Maria's list of historical landmarks.  The plaque for this location is probably somewhere on the inside, but I can't access it and I don't know who can.  This club was designed in 1927 by Julia Morgan, a California architect who also designed Hearst Castle.  The purpose for this building was originally to be sort of a clubhouse for the local women to meet.

Fun Fact: Minerva was the Roman goddess of Wisdom, and sponsor of arts, trade and strategy.

Congrats to Mugger52 for your FTF
