Geocache Description:

This series of caches was inspired by the excellent Indiana Benchmarking series. I have decided to build upon that series by publishing a series of caches highlighting benchmarks in Ohio. Each cache will bring you close to a loggable benchmark ... so each find will be a two-fer!

You may find a bookmark list of the Ohio series at Ohio Benchmark-Friendly Geocaches.

This cache will bring you to two loggable benchmarks ... so this one will be a three-fer! One is very close to the cache and is in the middle of the cemetery where the cache is, and the other one is nearby on the property line of the cemetery. Both are marked by waypoints on this cache page.

Please note that as this cache is in a cemetery, it is only available during daylight hours.

The first benchmark (the one closest to the cache) is an 'NGS benchmark' stamped "HANLEY" and is set in concrete at ground level next to a witness post sign. Below is my picture of the benchmark. This benchmark may be logged at Benchmark KZ1782.

The second benchmark (the one along the property line of the cemetery) is a 'bench mark disk' stamped "V 251" and is set in concrete at ground level next to a witness post sign. Below is my picture of the benchmark. This benchmark may be logged at Benchmark KZ0296.
