Geocache Description:

This cache is located at another little school site that is part of the Geegeelup Heritage Trail

More information about the trail is available from the Bridgetown visitors centre.

The cache should be a fairly simple find near a large rock with a plaque on it telling you a brief history of the Group 126 School.Off road parking is available adjacent to the rock

Cache contains a logbook and pencil, sharpener but has no room for swaps

This little school opened in 1925 and was one of the few to have its own Teachers quarters, usually teachers were billeted to nearby farmers' lodgings. It had a peak enrolment of 18 in 1929 which i guess would all have been in the one class.

Unfortunately like many other little schools in the area it had a fairly short life and closed in 1942.

Presumably its survival depended on families in the immediate area supplying enough students which they could only sustain for 17 years.

The actual location of the school house is about 17m from the plaque on  a 300 degree heading so you can pinpoint the site if you wish.
