In celebration of the 30-year anniversary of the original Back to the Future movie and the 15-year anniversary of the original geo-stash, it's time to go back to the cache! Get your own Back to the Cache Geocoin and set your date to go back and find the first ever (Stash) Geocache. Let's cache our way back to the future, are you in?
Come on down to Times Square and meet up from 1230PM to 4PM on Wednesday, October 21st. I will be wearing my blue New Market Mallers jersey and will be standing behind the George M Cohen statue, which is southwest of the red bleachers. The statue is just north of 46th Street.
All geocachers are welcome! Come and sign the log book and exchange some trackables. Out-of-towners should come by and talk to some of the locals about caching here in NYC or the surrounding areas.
There will be a limited supply of the Back to the Cache geocoins available for purchase. If you are interested in one (or more), please note that in your log. This great looking coin is trackable at www.geocaching.com and has an outline of the DeLorean time machine on the back where the tracking code is located. The colors of the coin were chosen to be appropriate for our event here in the US, as well as the sister event being held by my geo-friend Coinkezza in South Yorkshire, UK! (GC61F35)
In addition, there will be a raffle for a chance to win a replica of the "OUTATIME" license plate that was on the back of the DeLorean time machine in the movies. Everyone who signs the log book between 1230PM and 400PM at the event will be entered in the raffle, however you do not need to be present to win.
