Geocache Description:

The sea, the wind and the sand part 1
4000 years ago - since the Stone Age sea had its largest spread - was the northern part of Thy an archipelago. The recent uplift brought new country forward - the large flat plains to the west, called the raised seabed. Old seafloor ridges are now as significant divisions in the landscape - often 3-4 km inland.

The vast amounts of sand, which was exposed during the uplift, blew into bluffs and was carried by the wind far inland. Especially from the 1400s onwards tells of shifting sand that lay like a blanket of the fertile land. Just in the plantations around Vandet Sø there examples of that sand has been brought up to 14 km away from the coast.
