Geocache Description:

This is the first of a series of Mystery/Multi Caches with a Transport Theme

This cache will take you to two different locations before you find the final treasure!

The coordinates listed are not the final position of the cache. The final cache is just over 1 km from this location. The cache is a medium sized container which contains a log book, swaps, DVD’s, some other small items and a couple of TB’s

This cache is close by to East Midlands Airport and Donington Race circuit, two places I have been involved with over the years. I used to work at the airport, was a local councilor and was on the race track liaison committee. I still have a close relative living close by, who will maintain this cache.

To find this cache you will need to complete two parts.

The first part takes you to a parking area close to an area of interest. The second part involves hunting for information which will lead you to the final cache location.

Part 1:

Answer the six questions about transport. The numbers you find will slot into the required coordinates. There is no need to add or subtract the numbers you come up with, Therefore the answers will be made up of:

N: 2 numbers followed by 2 numbers & 3 numbers

W: 3 numbers followed by 2 numbers & then 3 numbers

Questions:

A) What class of locomotive are the following: Western Enterprise, Western Pathfinder, Western Explorer & Western Pioneer?

B) The main character from Grange Hill TV series whose name was Peter Jenkins was commonly called ******. This is the name of a company in the USA which produced a car with a length of 5.56m, width 2.01m and height 1.52m

C) This is a French made estate car measuring: Length 4.763m, width 1.811m and height 1.494m

Part 2

You now should have found the co-ordinates to lead you to a place close by Part 2. If travelling by foot, please take care on roads without footpaths.

Once you work out the destination, please take a pen and paper and possibly a calculator to work out the clues for the final destination

When you arrive at the first location, head in a south – south - westerly direction for approximately 104.13 linear meters (113.87 yards), until you are the other side of a tall tower. Please keep to the paths and respect the area you are crossing.

Here you will find several markers, which have the information available for you to work out the final resting place of the cache.

NOTE: The cache is hidden approximately 500 meters (565 yards) from your current position and will need to travel away from your current position to reach it.

N 52° AB.CDE

W 001° FG.HIJ

Where appropriate substitute the answers into figures (for example January would be 1, February 2 etc)

A)         The month   Mary Ann Asher died?

B)         Which day of the month did the only daughter of Thomas and Sarah Earp pass away?

C)         John Asher died in 18*9?

D)         What month did John Daniel Earp pass away

E)         George Earp was born in 18*4?

F G)      Thomas Earp died on which day of the month?

H I J)    The birth year of Mary Ann Asher divided by 2, then subtract 4

You should now have a full set of co-ordinates to go and find the cache.

The cache is situated just off a public road with limited parking just off the road. Park sensibly and if you think it is awkward park down the lane and walk to the spot.. Be careful when you park. You are looking for a HOT DRINK FLASK!. Please replace as found, well covered.

Before you go to find the cache, take time to admire the stunning view and watch the planes, trains and automobiles.

Good luck
