This cache is named after its location; it is set in a beautiful North Devon valley, which hit the news in 1952 when, the rivers claimed so many lives further down the river in Lynmouth.
The fishing lodge was built c.1832 and has been a tea garden since 1901, when visiting this cache it is most important you sample the cream teas, although the teashop is seasonal.
This area is a haven of wild life when placing the cache in the early evening we watched a heron fishing.
Tree cover may play havoc with your GPS but all the locations have a clear view of the skies. Whilst visiting this cache there is no need to climb fences or get your feet wet in the rivers. Please keep to marked paths at all times.
