Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the posted cords!

Please do not attempt to go there!

Almost all of the caches in this series are 2WD drive accessible. There are a few that are down spur roads that are an easy walk. Remember, there is NO cell service out there, so don't take chances! Many areas of the Osceola can be wet, so please remember to bring boots!

I found a spot in the Osceola for a cute turtle geoart.

To find the cords for the true location of the caches, just answer the easy questions about turtles.

The eastern river cooters are fresh water turtles that live on the eastern side of United States. They are described by a slightly domed dorsal or carapace which is olive or brown with yellowish cream markings which varies depending on the species. Older males are much darker than the female and the young ones.  The eastern river cooter is found in fresh waters, mostly in rivers with a moderate current. Eastern river scooters are adapted to breathing under fresh water, making it harder for researchers to study them. Eastern river cooters can live up to forty (40) years. However, they are faced by many challenges as they grow. Hatchlings are very vulnerable to predators. In addition, some people use these turtles as food, reducing their longevity. They also face the challenge of loss of habitat.
