Geocache Description:

The building across the street down by the water was the Friday Harbor Laboratories (University of Washington) in 1910 to 1923. The blue 2-story building on the street above was the dining hall for the labs. In 1924 the labs moved to its current location across the harbor seen on your right as you enter the harbor on the ferry.

More info about the labs history can be found at http://faculty.washington.edu/cemills/FHLTimeline.html

My Grandmother would row across the harbor with her aunt to listen to the lectures given in the summer time at the Friday Harbor Labs at it current location. My mom also worked in the dining hall one summer!

Cache is located on the side of a one way street going into town. Please obey the rules of the road when finding this cache.

Street parking can be in short supply at times!

Nice view of Mt Baker!
