QR-koden utvecklades av ett japanskt företag på 90-talet och används idag för att spara telefonnummer, länkar och annat. QR-koder kan bland annat hittas i tidningar, på affischer och på internet. De kommer i olika storlekar och innehåller betydligt mer information än vanliga streckkoder.

En QR-kod är uppbyggd av olika komponenter utöver informationen som är lagrad såsom ytterhörn som berättar för avläsarprogrammet hur stor yta koden tar upp, obligatoriska delar uppger vilken upplösning koden har samt versions och formatdata.

The QR code was invented by Japanese company in the ‘90s and is used today to save numbers, links and other kinds of data. You can find QR codes in magazines, on billboards and on the internet. The codes comes in different sizes and can contain more data than regular barcodes.

A QR code is built up by various components in addition to the information that is stored. The outer corners tells the position and size of the code to the scanner, required patterns states the resolution of the code and version and format information.
