Barton's Cove is home to several mute swans which can be seen year round. They may be leisurely floating around alone, in pairs or in groups. They can also be seen nesting in various parts of the cove. While beautiful to watch, they can be feisty and dangerous. Best to enjoy their beauty from a distance.
Although picturesque simply floating, I hope you also get to see them as I have ~ dancing, feeding, taking off from the water, in flight or landing. Or with their heads together forming the shape of a heart.
Cache container is held in place with a few small rock slabs and a small piece of driftwood to keep it dry, in place and out of sight. Putting it in this way was like a puzzle. Please do your best to put the pieces back together when replacing.
REGARDLESS of the water level, stability and comfort in your vessel is key.
DEPENDING on the water level, wading or mud-whacking(?) may or may not be required.
There is a public boat ramp just off of Route 2 for parking.
