One of my favorite things about being the owner of many puzzle caches are the emails I receive from cachers that are working on the puzzles. I love them; some times you get to see some interesting paths people take to get to their answers. I enjoy the collaboration aspect of puzzle solving as well as being able to guide cachers to a solution. Often, they were just groping at pieces of the puzzle. It's rewarding to help others reach that "ah" moment, it makes the effort puzzle hiders put in to their puzzles and caches worth it.
Every once in a while a cacher will contact me with a solution that was arrived through twist and turns, rabbit holes and some twisted logic. In these cases, it is easier to return to the drawing board and start from scratch. But, more often then not, these exchanges are the genesis of a new puzzle cache.
Now, truth be told, I'm better at making puzzles than I am at solving them. Sometime I draw a blank. Sometimes I have a great idea, but it turns out to be a nongo. Often, I stop what I'm doing to scratch out a few notes and look for ways to use what I have with what is presented to me. There is nothing like the moment when you figure it out and BINGO!
Below, you'll see my notes from some of my recent puzzle solving sessions. Somewhere in there, you'll find the coordinate for this puzzle.
