Geocache Description:

Hawkes Bay is beautiful part of New Zealand that is known around the world for award winning wines.  While here you can gaze at the art deco buildings, explore amazing walkways and eat beautful fresh fruit and vegetables. Hawkes Bay's name derives from Hawke Bay which was named by James Cook in honour of Admiral Edward Hawkes who decisively defeated the French at the Battle of QuiberonBay in 1759.

This is a quick find to break up the journey over the Napier Taupo Road. When the cache was placed it was snowing. WELCOME TO SUNNY HAWKES BAY.
