Battery Gardens might just have the best views of Torbay possible. This was an advantage when the battery was built in 1940, as it was equipped with anti-aircraft weaponry and harbour defence guns so that the Home Guard could protect the bay in case of aerial attack.
At the bottom of this trail is Fishcombe Cove beach, which is a fantastic place to sit and watch the world go by. There is also a café on the (very steep) hill which is open in the summer months, with public toilets just behind it, and at the top of the hill lies the Brixham Battery Heritage Museum, which is well worth a look around.
Pen and possibly tweezers required.
