Not to be Forgotten Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi 2figs

In your last note you indicated that the cache would be enabled when spring arrived. Since the cache has remained disabled over the summer and fall I cannot let it go any longer. Consequently I am archiving the cache at this time as I cannot let it remain disabled any longer.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

Mountain View Cemetery

It is thought that the Mountain View Cemetery got its name from the ridge of hills that runs from north of Forget eastward to the White Bear Indian Reserve north of Carlyle. This ridge of hills is known as the “Moose Mountains”. Just after the turn of the last century when this cemetery was started there were few trees on the prairies and the view to northeast would show these hills clearly. The Mountain View Cemetery has had only one or two interments in the last fifty years and very few in the early days. The Village of Forget and immediate district was predominately Catholic therefore this Protestant cemetery was rarely used. According to the records kept by the R.M. of Tecumseh #65 there are several unmarked graves from earlier times.
