Geocache Description:

The Daughters of the American Revolution placed stone markers all along the Santa Fe Trail.  I had driven by this one many times but never realized it was here.  It is on the edge of a church parking lot now.  I knew that Ellinwood was on the Santa Fe Trail, but I couldn't find the marker.  I had to do some research to find it. 

 You may want to do some research about the shop that was set up on the Santa Fe Trail not to far south west of here.  

I hate placing caches this close together, but this was a historical marker and needed recognized.  Most will speed by and not ever realize what it is.  

Bring your own pen.  This is a self snapping container with small swag.  Be VERY cautious of muggles as you are on a highway with NO cover.  Also, uniformed (PD) muggles love to park here for catching speeders.  Be respectful of them and the surroundings as always.  Might even give you a chance to explain to them what you are doing.

Hint 1: look down in memorial of those who passed on the Santa Fe Trail.
