Whether you’re local or a visitor to the area, we invite you to join us for an informal evening of drink and geo-chat at the Wingfield Arms. Food is also available until 20:45pm for those who are hungry. There will also be the opportunity to discover and swap trackables, so please bring along any you have in your geocaching bag.
The Wingfield Arms is a 17th century coaching house by the old crossing of the River Severn. The river bridge is on the old A5 road from London to Holyhead, and was built by Thomas Telford. This is a family owned pub and is quite large and is popular with both locals and visitors. There is a well used public bar with a fireplace, TV, pool table and goldfish tank, together with a small lounge.
There is a separate dining area together with a large dining room to the rear of the building. Dogs are welcome indoors but only in the bar. Outdoors, there is a patio and play area for children adjacent to the car park. The pub is carpeted, so please wear sensible clean footwear (as opposed to muddy geocaching boots) for the evening.
Please help me by logging your attendance in good time. If you note in your log the number of attendees and whether or not you expect to be eating, I can keep the pub updated on numbers.
