English
After having created several multi- mystery and traditional caches, the time has come to make a rarer type of geocache: a letterbox hybrid. And this time not in my home town, but in the area where I work: the Amsterdam Science Park.
IMPORTANT: The coordinates on top of this page are fictional. You will not find the cache there. And to make matters worse, the cache is locked. To find the cache you have to perform a projection, and to open it you have to complete a field puzzle.
The Science Park
Amsterdam Science Park is located in the eastern part of Amsterdam, in the area Watergraafsmeer. The park comprises 70 hectares (175 acres) and provides accommodations for science, business, and housing. Amsterdam Science Park focusses on Physics, Information technology, and life sciences. The natural science faculties of the University of Amsterdam are located here. There are also several restaurants and a sports complex.
The cache
The cache offers room for travel bugs and coins
With the log you also find a stamp. This stamp is supposed to stay in the cache!
Of course, this wouldn’t be a letterbox if it did not involve letters. Therefore, you are free to leave a (franked) postcard or envelope with your address on it inside the cache, and maybe one day it will be send back to you. If you find a post card with the address already on it in the cache, please take it with you and send it back to the owner.
Assignment 1: finding the Cache
From the published coordinates, perform a projection of 230 meters, and 230 degrees.
Assignment 2: opening the Cache
The cache is locked with a 3 digit lock.
In the direct surrounding of both the cache and the starting location, search and find the pictures below. The censored numbers are the numbers of the lock, in the order ABC.
