In celebration of the 30-year anniversary of the original Back to the Future movie and the 15-year anniversary of the original geo-stash, it's time to go Back to the Cache! get your own Back to the Cache Geocoin and set your date to go back and find the first ever (Stash) Geocache. Let's cache our way back to the future, are you in?
Come on down to the Harvey Arms public house in Finningley Doncaster from 4:29pm to 8:29pm on Wednesday October 21st. The home of home cooked food. (Old Bawtry road DN93BY) I'll be the one with a big log book in front of me and a selection of Geocoins to discover/trade/buy. All geocachers are welcome! New and not so new! Come and sign the log book and exchange/discover some trackables.
There will be a limited supply of Back to the Cache Geocoins available for purchase. If you are interested in one ( or more) please note that in your log. This great looking coin is trackable at www.geocaching.com and has an outline of the Delorean time machine on the back where the tracking code is located. The colouring has been chosen by a fellow cacher, New Market Mallers, who has very kindly supplied me with a few of these very collectable coins, and will be holding a sister event in Times Square New York on the same day(GC6101D), hence the red white and blue colour choice fitting for both The USA and the UK!
A night cache is at present being placed and will hopefully be published at the time of the event and is in close proximity to another series in the area as well as a church micro multi if you're not able to wait until dark. FTF prizes will be present. Don't forget to bring a torch! (A headlamp style torch works best)
A full menu as well as a £5.95 meal deal and a specials board will be available on the night, If you are planning on ordering a meal, please could you also indicate in your "will attend" log the number of people (including children) so we can advise the venue hosts, for example "we will be coming (4) eating (2)
In addition, there will be a draw for an outta time back to the future themed trackable. Everyone who signs the log book between 4:29pm and 8:29pm at the event will be entered into the draw, however you do not need to be present to win.
FTF for the event will also be drawn out of a hat/bowl and announced on the night and on the page so you can add that afterwards. I am in contact with a member of the North Wales UK Mega 2016 about running a raffle to help towards fundraising to bring the GPS maze Europe exhibition to Wales next year, so any donations towards the raffle would be greatly appreciated. Tickets will be available to purchase on the night and the draw will be at around 6pm. One prize will be a May the 4th be with you light sabre coin. £1 from the sale of the back to the cache coins will also be donated towards the Wales Mega.
This is our first ever event so any attendance and feedback will be greatly appreciated.
