Mozarkite
Missouri designated mozarkite as its official state rock in 1967. The name comes from combining (Mo) Missouri, (zark) Ozark Mountains in Benton County, (ite) meaning mineral or rock. The home of Mozarkite is Lincoln MO, but the stones can be found in other parts of west central Missouri (south of the Missouri River and West of the Lake of the Ozarks).

When polished this semi-precious stone makes beautiful jewelry. I will try to keep samples (polished & raw) of Mozarkite in the cache. Please just take one piece as a souvenir.
FTF 1. prize is a jewelry quality slice of Mozarkite
2. A gold medallion donated by the Benton County Historical Society (their museum is very close by and they have given permission to place the cache)
When logging on the geocaching.com, please state where you are visiting from (or if you live in the area). This is my first cache placement and I am excited to see where cachers are visiting from.
