Skånevik Sunnhordalands perle
Bygda ved Skåneviksfjorden er omkransa av flott natur og har ca. 1000 innbyggjarar. Tettstaden er den nest største i Etne kommune. Skånevik har eit variert næringsliv der industri og service står i sentrum. Kulturen har også ein viktig plass med fire store, årlege arrangement: Skånevik Bluesfestival, Torgdagane, Jakt-, Fiske - og Turdagane og Pippifestival, som dei mest kjende. Vi har omsorgssenter, helsesenter, Idrettshall, stadion med gras - og grusbane, ein godt utstyrt b/u-skule i delvis nye lokaler, godt barnehagetilbod, kyrkje og eit flott hotell. Skånevik the pearl of Sunnhordaland
The village with a population of only one thousand inhabitants is situated on Skånevik
fjord and is surrounded by rugged hills covered in beautiful forest. The townsfolk
rely on several means for incomes with industry and service being the being the
largest.
Cultural events are many and varied on the yearly calendar with
Torgdagane, Jakt-, fiske-, og turdagane, Skånevik Blues Festival and the Pippi Longstocking being the biggest and most well known. The town
has excellent facilities including a Retirement village, Health center, Sports hall with
climbing wall, both indoorand outdoor football fields, school facilities catering for
children up to sixteen years of age as well as kindergarten, church, supermarket
and a modern hotel.
