Geocache Description:

Jubilee Country Park

**** The JCP and JCP 2015 caches will be archived ****
*** (in March 2020) and replaced with a new series ***

One of the London Borough of Bromley's most significant nature reserves, Jubilee Country Park is an area of woodland and wildflower and grassland meadows which stretches over 62 acres. The site is home to a vast number of species of plant and wildlife, many are protected and are rarely seen in the London area.

The park is located near to Petts Wood and can be accessed from seven entrances, three on Southborough Lane, three on Blackbrook Lane and one through Hawks Wood. There are also three car parks in Blackbrook Lane, Thornet Wood Road and Tent Peg Lane.

A series of seven caches was placed to commemorate the visit by the Queen and Prince Philip to Bromley on 15 May 2012 as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. A new series of five puzzle caches have now been added, bringing the number of caches to 12 in and around the park.

The walk around the 2015 series is about 2 miles, but both series can be undertaken together with little increase in distance. The paths in places can be muddy and waterlogged in bad weather. Wheelchair users can get close to the caches in good weather, but assistance will be required in most cases to retrieve the cache. The area is a local nature reserve, please treat it with respect.

*************************

All of the JCP 2015 caches are associated with 1955, sixty years ago at the time of publication to tie in with the theme of the original puzzles. The puzzles are intended to be relatively simple, but they all work in slightly different ways. If you need any help please let me know - I believe that even puzzle caches are meant to be found!

JCP 2015 #5 is a magnetic nano, which is not at the listed coordinates. The cache does not contain a pen. Lots of well known (and not so well known) people were born in 1955.

The cache can be found at:

N 51 (12 Scottish Poet). (11 Finnish PM) (1 British Comedian) (12 Sumo Wrestler)

E 0 (8 US Actor, Director, Screenwriter). (6 Sumo Wrestler) (4 British DJ) (11 First Lady of California)

25 August 2015 - Slight tweak to puzzle to remove a Wikipedia ambiguity. Change of Easting minute clue.
