This is a collection of 125 puzzle caches of varying degree of difficulty. Some of the puzzles might be more challenging and some are easy enough to be solved by anyone from the other two state universities (Just kidding, Iowa has 3 fantastic state universities). ;-) Hopefully everyone will find something that they enjoy. Geocheckers will be provided on some, but not all, of the caches. All caches are within 4 miles of the given coordinates. Permission was obtained for deviation from the suggested 2-mile radius due to permit restrictions and housing density in the area surrounding the geoart.

This spirit quest cache will take a little research. Please read the text below to find the cache.
St. Peter Catholic Church was first built in 1861 in Windham, IA and named “St. Peter” in honor of Father Peter Sullivan. A hillside north of the church was selected for the cemetery and remained in use until 1918. At that time, Iowa had only been a state for 15 years and the nation had just been thrown into Civil War.
By the fall of 1893, the congregation had become too large for the space at Windham Church. Since most of the parishioners lived north of Windham, they decided to relocate in that direction. The church was still called St. Peter and the town was named after a bishop. Land for the new St Peter's Cemetery was donated and the first burial was in May of 1893.
In time, the old church building at Windham collapsed and the rectory was sold. Only the pioneer cemetery remains at the old location.
To find the cache:
- Locate St. Peter's Pioneer Cemetery near Windham, IA on a map.
- Use that location to locate the coordinates for the cache at the entrance to the cemetery. NOTE: You don't have to go to the cemetery to do this. All your research can be done online.
- Enter those coordinates into the geochecker below. A correct response will give you location of the final to this cache
