Duke favortie spot is Eel lake. It lies between his home Coos Bay and his Dads place of work in Winchester Bay. Duke is a very busy boy when he visits the lake. There are two trails to hike. The northern trail is the shorter of the two, twists and turns, wildlife can be seen on occasion if you remain very quit. Your about halfway on this trail as you approach a resting bench, there is another at the end for your viewing pleasure. The southern trail is for the zealous person {maybe 6 miles round trip} up hill, down hill, switchbacks, inlets. On this trail the views of other arms of the lake can be seen, there are resting benchs as well. Duke thinks plenty of water, snacks or a lunch is necessary. A little reminder this is a wildlife area, also trail bikes can be a big surprise. {please pack out what you pack in} Duke also likes wading near the banks of the lake, diving for his toys. He likes getting his drinks from the water faucet at the fountain after playing football. The off-leash pet area is a new feature of the park good for romping free. He love to camp with his kayaking friends and wishes he was small enough to float with them. So stop by and enjoy the day here at Tugman Park, Eel Lake. Try to find Dukes Lake Letterbox.
