East Crossfield Community Hall Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

FordNatic: This one has gone walkabout once too often. I suspect the landowner next to the road allowance keeps taking it away. A cache that was here prior to this one used to suffer the same problems.

Geocache Description:

This was the location of the East Crossfield Community Hall which was built here in 1925, having been sponsored by the UFA (United Farmers of Alberta). Not much left here today except for a hunk of concrete.

The hall was sold to the town of Crossfield in 1949 for $1000.00 and moved to the corner of Railway Street and Chisholm Avenue. By 1991 a new community hall opened on Mountain Avenue and the old hall having outlived its usefulness was demolished. Today the seniors' club is on that location with a small waterpark for the kids to play in during the summer.

Park on the north side of the road!

Congratulations to Trefoil/Voyager for being First to Find!!
