This is our third geocache in the Banks Street Reserve wilderness. Whilst in the reserve you should see plenty of Bush Turkeys, Spiders and plenty of native Australian trees.
Back in the 1800s this bushland was largely rain-forest. It was part of the "Seven mile Scrub" and known for it's beauty. Picknickers and naturalists came to walk under the dense canopy of wet rain-forest along the Enoggera Creek and on the higher slopes, through dry rain-forest laced with vines. The reserve may be small, just 34 hectares, but it shelters open eucalypt forest and remnant dry rain-forest along Enoggera Creek. The open forest is dominated by Queensland BrushBox, Spotted Gum and a number of Ironbark and Wattle species. The first point of the geocache is located at one of the entrances to Banks Street Reserve. There you will find some signs, one with the large name of the park and the smaller one with some details of the park. The information you will need is in the details of the smaller sign - many of the details which have been repeated in our Banks Street Reserve blurb, above.
x = Eastern Whipbird Track
y = Scrub Turkey Track
z = Boobook Owl Track
x = x + 1
y = y * y
The Geocache is located at: S 27° 2x.01x E 152° 5y.xyz
It is located a good 500 metre walk from the starting co-ordinates. You should be able to do most of it following the trails, just the end part needs a little bush bash! Some trails are steep so be careful! Happy hunting and watch out for those Bush Turkeys!
