Philip Ponds Homestead
We came across this gem in our travels north this weekend.
What a harsh life it would have been out here back when this was built!
How did they survive the harsh temperatures?
How well did the building hold out the heat with these thick walls?
Why did they leave the building to the elements?
Unlike some visitors here, please don't damage what we have left of our great pioneers of the region!
The cache is not in the building, please re-hide well as this spot seems to attract overnighters!
My research does not reveal this cache to be in a prohibited area. In fact it is actually at the corner of two public roads and the homestead is signposted on the main highway indicating it as a heritage location for tourists!
Having said all that, I am willing to accept further, substatiated information to the contrary, in which case we will remove the cache.
