DCBRJ: Had a chuckle at GZ and replaced with another hide with slightly different coords.

But then thought, it’s time to open the area up for other players. Been a few new ones recently, maybe they can find a spot.

Geocache Description:


Actually didn’t know the name of the park until placed a cache here - and unlike other parks this one didn’t have a nickname given by the boys. Perhaps because it was the first one, and didn't need a name. At the time, it was simply "the playground" The boys and I have spent many hours here, one of the first places we used hang out in after moving to Welland almost 8 years ago. DC was born in Welland and has been playing in this park since he could walk. B was not yet 1 year old when we moved into a neighbourhood nearby. This was the closest park we could walk a stroller too, and this is really the first playground the boys had gotten familiar with.

We’ve since moved and both boys have outgrown this play set (which made it necessary to start to discover and drive to others in other neighbourhoods), and they don't ask to come here anymore, but it will always be a special playground for us.

You can park at either the end of Deere St or the end of Wright St - both spots are about the same distance to the cache (which is at the corner of the park away from the playground) - though the Deere St entrance is preferred by the kids as it is closer to the playground.

The find may be difficult due to the size, but it’s a simple hide. it’s where you think it is. just look carefully. Please replace as found. Though not near the homes, flashlights from this part of the park may cause alarm, so no caching at night please!
