This is a collection of 125 puzzle caches of varying degree of difficulty. Some of the puzzles might be more challenging and some are easy enough to be solved by anyone from the other two state universities (Just kidding, Iowa has 3 fantastic state universities). ;-) Hopefully everyone will find something that they enjoy. Geocheckers will be provided on some, but not all, of the caches. All caches are within 4 miles of the given coordinates. Permission was obtained for deviation from the suggested 2-mile radius due to permit restrictions and housing density in the area surrounding the geoart.
Good luck and have fun!
For the North coordinates:
- Step 1: Choose any three-digit number. We'll call this number ABC
- Step 2: Take the first two digits of the number and add it to the third digit. (AB+C)
- Step 3: Subtract this total from the original three digit number. (ABC - answer from previous step)
- Step 4: Multiply your answer by 58. (answer from previous step * 58)
- Step 5: Divide your answer by 3 times the first two digits of your original three digit number. (answer previous step) / (3 * AB).
- Step 6: Finally, subtract 2. (answer from previous step - 2)
Your answer should be a three-digit number that we'll call XYZ.
Your latitude coordinates are N 41º 40.XYZ
Next for the West coordinates:
- Step 1: Choose any two-digit number. We'll call this number DE
- Step 2: Take the first digit of the number and add it to the second digit. (D+E)
- Step 3: Subtract that sum from the original number. (DE - answer from previous step)
- Step 4: Multiply your answer by 45 (answer from previous step * 45)
- Step 5: Divide by the first digit of your original number. (answer from previous step / D)
Your answer should be a three-digit number we'll call UVW.
Your longitude coordinates are W 091º 39.UVW
