Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache in Sahm Park and (hopefully) a geocaching community project in cyberspace. NO NIGHT CACHING ALLOWED!!!

I've found over the years that several of us Indy Area Geocacers also enjoy cooking - and we ALL enjoy eating good food!  Having seen recipes bounced around a few times, I had the idea to formalize this a bit more.

At the posted coordinates you'll find a cache container filled with cooking/kitchen-related SWAG. Whether you're a local or an out-of-town dinner guest, finders are encouraged (but not required) to post your favorite recipe and even a picture of yourself near the cache site ready to start cookin'.

You're looking for a 1 quart lock n' lock covered in camo duct tape. There's a FTF tag for whoever answers the dinner bell first. You'll also find a couple of my personal tags for whoever wants them. Please make sure to return the container to its hiding position as you found it.

Bon appetit!

Pan Pizza - "BSABadger Special"

Sauce: 1 29 oz. can Tomato Sauce, 1 tsp. Basil, 1 tsp Oregano, 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder - combine ingredients in medium pot and heat on medium to reduce excess water.

Italian Sausage: 1 lb. Ground Pork, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, 1 tsp fennel seed - thoroughly mix spices into the ground pork. Brown sausage and drain the grease, then mix into the sauce as it cooks.

Additional toppings: 1 medium Onion (diced), small carton of Fresh Mushrooms (sliced), 6 oz. Sliced Pepperoni, 1 lb. Grated Mozzerella Cheese (get the good stuff, it's worth it!), Sliced Jalepenos (optional) - I prefer to simmer the mushrooms and onions in the sauce while it cooks, but you can add them separately during final assembly if you want.

Crust: 1 cup warm Water, 1 Tbs. Dry Active Yeast, 1 tsp. sugar or honey, 1/2 tsp. Salt, roughly 3 cups All-Purpose Flour - Preheat oven to 170 degrees. Add yeast, salt, and sugar/honey to the water and mix in oven-safe bowl until dissolved. Stir in flour until begins to form dough. Knead in remaining flour until dough is firm. Let dough rise in warm oven for 10 minutes. Grease a 14" deep dish pizza pan. Beat down dough and spread in pizza pan. The dough probably won't cover the entire pan yet, that's normal. Lightly cover dough with oil to keep it from drying out and put pan in oven. Let dough rise for another ten minutes.

Final Assembly: Pull pan out of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees. Spread the dough the rest of the way across the pan so it starts to come up the sides. Spread sauce across the unbaked crust. Place pepperoni, Jalepenos (and other toppings, if not in the sauce) on top of the sauce and cover with the cheese. Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese starts to brown.
