A follow-up to the Christmas Tree Road cache. One of the ‘traditions’ that went along with Christmas Tree Day was getting a vehicle stuck. Sometimes we needed to put chains on the truck – other times a driver would just slide the car off the road. It was at this cache site that our relative managed to get our car stuck not once, but twice, at the same point. After he dropped the car off the road into the snowbank a second time, we had some fun heckling about S-turns.
For those unfamiliar, S-turns are a driving technique used to move a car over laterally through a forward/back motion. If you aren’t sure of S-turns, Canada’s Worst Driver makes a point of explaining them frequently. They are a great skill to have in a driving repertoire, especially when going off the main roads in winter.
So as you search for this cache, chuckle to yourself about a poor little Ford Tempo leaning into a snowbank and a family heaving together to push the poor car out of the ditch.
