The Port of Aberdeen has a history spanning back over 885 years to the founding charter granted by King David of Scotland in 1136. The building with the impressive clock tower is the harbour office it is a grand granite building with ornate stonework. The cache used to be situated across the road beside a gate in the fence which is used by harbour staff and by muggles wanting to get close up pictures of the vessels in port. However it has had to be moved due to the change in the security climate to an area more easily accessed by the public.
If you have time take a walk along Regent Quay there are several other fine granite buildings that often go unnoticed.
Across the road from the cache location is one of Aberdeen's Nuart Murals
