JP-02 Triceratops Traditional Cache

One of the six Dinosaur Cache’s in the Viney Hill Brook Jurassic Park series.  Cache can be found as a stand alone cache, but if you are attempting to find the final mystery Jurassic Park Cache in the park, do not forget to gather the information required before going on your way.  For additional information on deciphering this cache’s clue, make sure you have checked out Hammond’s Dream.

Name: Triceratops

Meaning: “Three Horned face”

Height:  10 Ft

Length: 30 Ft

Weight:  6 - 12 Tons

Period: Cretaceous

Diet: Herbivore

Ranger’s Note:  The Triceratops’ frill can measure as large as 6 ft across.  It is believed that in the wild, the frill’s purpose was to protect the Triceratops’ neck from the powerful bite of its main predator, the Tyrannosaurus.  As these two dinosaurs have two different habitats here in the park, they do not interact here, and we have never seen this hypothesis put to the test.
