Geocache Description:

The final geocache of the Jurassic Park series.  Listed coordinates are for the main parking lot.  You will need to uncover information from the dinosaur hides in this park to solve the puzzle and obtain the cache’s coordinates. You will need to have a specific tool to obtain the coordinates of this mystery cache.  The cache description will refer to it as a “DNA Sequencer,” but the actual tool is listed in the cache attributes.

Jurassic Park is the result of John Hammond’s dream, the dream to create living, breathing dinosaurs that the people of the world can observe, study, and enjoy.  A remarkable feat of technology, persistence, creativity, and vision, the park is sure to wow guests of all ages once it opens its gates.  The dinosaurs are ready, the lodges are outfitted, vehicles are prepared, and personnel are trained.  Hammond has spared no expense to see his dream become a reality.

All that remains before the park opens is a few last minute operations to make sure everything runs perfectly smoothly.  You see, just a few days ago the park suffered a rather debilitating power outage when a tropical storm collided with the island.  Rest assured, power is back, the animals have been returned to their habitats, their fences have been mended, and injuries to Jurassic Park staff were…. minimal…

You have been flown in specifically because of the reputation your set of skills has earned you.  You see, we are in need of a finder of the misplaced, a seeker of the hidden, if you will.  A geocacher, as I believe you people call yourselves. Something on the island has gone missing, and it is critical it is retrieved before the park opens to the public.

The following information is strictly confidential, and in agreeing to aide us you understand that you are bound to the full disclosure agreements of Jurassic Park and InGen Laboratories?  Good? Good!

A disgruntled computer programmer by the name of Dennis Nedry used the recent power outage to his advantage and was able to bypass security with a collection of dinosaur embryos.  If they were to fall into the hands of our competition and reverse engineered, it would mean the end of Hammond’s dream.  Luckily, surveillance has proven that Nedry never left the park, meaning those embryos are out there somewhere.  Your priority is to retrieve those embryos!  Your reputation as a geocacher is dependent on them!  Hmm?  What’s that?  Oh, him?  Just focus on retrieving those embryos.  Nedry is no longer….. a… concern.

Your GPS locator should be able to track the container of embryos if we can upload it with the decoded DNA of the stolen dinosaurs.  The problem is that the power outage compromised our batch of DNA in storage, so it is no longer reliable.  I’m afraid you will have to first go out in to the park and obtain the DNA… from the source, so to speak.  The tracking devices embedded in the animals should make them easy to locate for someone of your skill.  Just stay on the trails and you should have no problem moving around the different habitats.

Once you locate one of the dinosaurs, you will need to scan its DNA with your DNA Sequencer.  Make note of HOW MANY bars react in the DNA strand.  That number will be our ticket to finding the missing embryos.  Once you have obtained this information from each of the six species in Jurassic Park, you will be able to complete the coordinates.

We know Nedry never left the park with the embryos, so we know this much:

                                                N  41 20.ABC

                                                W 72 24.XYZ

All you will need to do is fill in the gaps using the numbers you obtain from each dinosaur in the correct section of code.  Oh don’t worry!  We aren’t completely helpless here at the lab; we know the order in which the DNA numbers must line up.

                        A – Triceratops                        X – Tyrannosaurus Rex

                        B – Gallimimus                        Y – Velocirator

                        C – Brachiosaurus                   Z – Dilophosaurus

Once you complete the coordinates, find those embryos!  Hammond's dream of sharing real life dinosaurs with the world depends on it!  Oh, and do be careful out there.  We are talking about actual living, breathing dinosaurs.
