Geocache Description:

A series of caches meant to provide a little information about my favourite equine - the donkey:-) All of the donkeys in the photos on the cache pages can be found living nearby at The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada.

Donkeys are herd animals and like to be close to their pack. There are donkeys who also form very special attachments to each other and are considered to be a 'bonded pair' - where one goes the other will follow:-) Bonded pairs do most everything together...eat, rest, walk, drink. If separated they will quickly work to return to one another and if this is not possible, you will often hear them bray loudly until they are together again. These special attachments are not limited to donkeys from the same family...it is not known why certain donkeys are drawn to each other. Should one member of a bonded pair pass away, the surviving donkey is able to move on and form another special relationship with another donkey. The Donkey Sanctuary has a number of bonded miniature donkey pairs - Pansey and Sable, Marci and Gemini, Peter and Katy and Dylan and Sydney (shown below).
