Once you find the cache along the Service Road, you will need to walk down service road and locate the Purple Trail trail head. Proceed down the trail until you reach several pine trees. Here you will begin your search for the cache. You will travel about 400 feet down the Purple Trail to the cache. You will be looking for a match stick container, hanging on one of the tree limbs to the pine tree. The hide isn't as devious as it would sound it should be as most of the branches on the lower part of the trees are void of any green. You will just need to spot the black zip ties holding the container to the tree. Please only unscrew the top and remove the log sheet from the cache. Since there is no room for a pen, you will need to bring your own to sign in. When placing the cover back on the container, please make sure it is sealed correctly so water does not get in.
Once you have found this one and you are ready to continue on your way, you might want to take the short detour and locate Double Tree, which was placed by Joe Smith.
Please note that Deer Lakes is only open from 8 AM to Dusk, year round. This means there is no night caching in the park. Please abide by this so there are no problems.
