Green Park Botanical Gardens boasts of being an eco-friendly retreat sponsoring getaways, weddings, yoga and conferences, however, its infrastructure is still in development. There are some gardens, including organic ones, and the place is owned by locals. But best not to book your holiday here yet. What you will find are a few tents to rent and bicycles to tour around the area, which is quite serene and peaceful in contrast to the busy Bang Rak area. There are several roads and pathways that meander through the fruit trees and local vegetation. It's also somewhat swampy, and during the rainy season the swamps join to form lakes. Greenpark backs up to the airport, if you happen to find yourself all the way to the back of the park, and you can get a close-up of planes coming in. In any case, you'll find the cache amid an unusual set of statuary that is recognized by the locals as having some significance, including an ascetic with his protectors and a robed, multi-headed god holding symbolic scepters.
