Recentelijk is Schelluinen twee nieuwe wandelpaden rijker. Dit maakt een geocache route rondom het dorp zeer aantrekkelijk. Reden genoeg voor Scalune (verbastering van Schelluinen) om in actie te komen en mede cachers het moois van dit rustige Alblasserwaardse dorp te laten zien.
Deze route gaat om het dorp heen en is prima te combineren met de multi-dorps cache van Schelluinen (die is voornamelijk IN het dorp).
De route is bijna 4 kilometer lang en zonder zoeken gemakkelijk binnen een uur te lopen. Maar hoe snel zijn de caches te vinden? Het aanbod is gevarieerd: van makkelijk tot moeilijk, van klein tot groot en van traditioneel tot creatief en origineel.
De route kan in beide richtingen gelopen worden. Parkeren kan het beste op de algemene parkeerplaats bij het voetbalveld. Neem hiervoor de tweede rotonde (niet die bij de ingang van het dorp) en rij net voorbij de Kia garage. Parkeren in het dorp bij het cafeteria wordt niet op prijs gesteld. Het is nergens nodig om in een tuin te komen, alle caches zijn vanaf het pad of berm bereikbaar.
Schelluinen 1 ligt eigenlijk op de minst mooie locatie van deze route, maar we zullen er langs moeten om op de mooie paden te komen. Je loopt langs de provinciale weg N 216 (naar Schoonhoven) en snelweg A15 (Nijmegen – Europoort)
Recently Schelluinen has 2 new footpaths around the vilage. This creates an interesting opportunity for geocaching. Sufficient reasons for Scalune (Schelluinen in old Dutch) to get into action and show other cachers this lovely village in the Alblasserwaard.
This route goes around the village and a combination with the multi cache IN the village is a good option.
The route is almost 4 km in length and can be done (without searching…) within the hour easily. But how long will it take to find the caches??? There is a wide variety of caches: easy till hard to find, small till big and traditional till creative and original.
The route can be done in both directions. Best is to park on the parking near the football fields. It is not necessary to enter any gardens or private property, all caches are accessible from the road or bank.
Schelluinen 1 is in fact the least nice hide in this route, but we have to pass it to get on the nice paths. The road is parallel to the N216 (to Schoonhoven) and highway A15 (from Nijmegen to the Europoort)
