Geocache Description:

Mulvane Micro Series #5 - Love Locks

The original MMS #5 I figured it would not last long. It was just cheap plastic that i ordered for $5. This one i actually put alot of work into it. I know that these hold up millions of people have depended on these for years. Anyway back to the point. In Paris France there is one peticular bridge that all this started on. The bridge is called "Pont des arts" bridge. The point of the love locks was to symbolize ones love and strength of the relationship. You and your partner would buy a pad lock or a combonation lock, scratch, encribe, or right your twos names on the lock(Geocaching names will work ) and come to the bridge to place it on together which was clipped on the bridge then to finish it the couple would kiss as a sign of "Verfication" that the love is indeed as strong as the lock, along with the ceremonial kiss if the lock had a key you are to throw the key as far as you can. And if it was a combonation written on  piece of paper you are to rip the paper into small particals and throw it away or burn it(please dont burn it in this park!!!). And as long as the lock stayed on your relationship would last as long as that lock would. On valentines day 2015 I took my girlfriend who has a red lock to this very spot. ADter hearing about the love locks in Paris adn listening to local teens and adults i found out that that is exactly what is going on in this particular location!! Who knew inspiration could travel so far to little Mulvane Kansas?! I find this very cool adn interesting. If you would like stop by a store on your way here to get a lock! Some places consider this to be a form of vandalism but i checked with the Mulvane Historic Society and the Mulvane Police Department and they said they dont care if we put them on here. But if this ever changes i will let you know. Some places have even gone as far as cutting all the locks off the fence, bridge, gate,..etc... So now about the container. I cant reveal to much about the container. I have never found a geocache like this, and I spent alot of work on this so try to take care of it and put it back exactly as you found it. You may need to bring tweezers or a pair of needle nose tweezer to get the log out! Bring your own pen/pencil...... Or whatever will write. To Open try sliding it to the left. To close put lid in place and slided to the right. Have Fun! Email or message me if there are any problems! And as always, Enjoy!!!
