Geocache Description:

This cache will take you on a tour of some of the town’s old and interesting buildings.  It is a town centre puzzle where you have to collect information from various places to allow you to work out the cache co-ordinates.

 


Start at the above co-ordinates which will take you to one of the oldest pubs in the town dating back to 1535.

 

  1. Go to the corner near the golden arches, look up at the Bourbon and count the elephants.  A = number of elephants

  2. Go to N53 43.447 W001 51.647  This building was a part of the Halifax improvement plan in the 1850s.70,000 people were brought in to the town by train to witness the opening of this building.  B= the date the building was built

  3.  

    Face the building in 2 and walk to your left up the road, look for a place that became a famous in a song.  C = number of ladies faces above the windows

  4. N53 43.340W001 51.697  Find the bank D = number of lions keeping guard

  5. N53 43.285W001 51.678  First opened in 1901, here in the 60s you could have seen a very fab 4.  Look up and find Beethoven E = the number of famous names

  6. N53 43.268W001 51.583  Find the faces of tragedy and comedy.  F = the date the building was built

  7. Face the building in 6 and walk to your left, turn first right and walk straight down under glass.  At the entrance to a different kind of hall stop.  G = the date the hall was opened

  8. N53 43.297W001 51.455  H = the date of this regular shaped chapel.

  9. N53 43.392W001 51.265  Here lay some stones that date back to 1150!  I = the date on the clock tower near the huge window

 

For the final cache use your answers to solve this and find the loot…….
