Finn Hall Traditional Cache

This cache was set with a few other caches on Sugar Island. A friend of our family [Carolyn] showed me some sites and history/stories of the spots. The island has its own way of life and unique history. Our family has been going there for 40+ years and still learn new history stories. You are required to take your vehicle over by ferry so you will have a round trip fee. You pay leaving the mainland but not coming off the island

Finn Hall was constructed in 1926. A group of Finnish immigrants had settled on Sugar Island and built Finn Hall as a place to hold gatherings. The hall was used for many years as a place for dances and gatherings. The historical society is in the process of restoring the building. Permission has been given to place the cache. We were over verifying the cords and a fellow stopped and asked if we would like to go inside. He was very nice and showed all the renovations taking place to get it back to its original state. He was and should be proud of their project. The Brasser school  that had been moved once will be moved to this site in the future.
