The UAE Flag in Dibba Al Hisn was raised on the 2nd December 2013 in addition and in unison with the flag raising at Al Dhaid and Kalba.
The Flag was raised on a 75 metre high pole in the city of Dibba Al Hisn by the instructions of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, it follows on from the preparations during the UAE's 41st National Day celebrations of raising the 123 metre high flag over Flag Island in Sharjah City.
This cache is part of a series covering each of the large flag poles erected throughout the Emirate of Sharjah. The Emirate of Sharjah is the third largest Emirate in the UAE. Sharjah extends far further than just the city, with various enclaves and even a counter-enclave and is the only Emirate to have a land border with both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The Emirate boats not only a vibrant city but also fertile oasis areas, pleasant beaches, mountainous areas and large wadis.
The series consists of 5 caches (4 traditional, 1 multi) plus one bonus cache - all located within parts of the Sharjah Emirate although you will often have to enter other Emirates on the way. By completing the series, you will have travelled to both coasts as well as through a variety of changing landscapes. The 5 main caches are all located at Flag Poles erected to celebrate National Day:
Flag Square - Sharjah GC615FD
Flag Square - Al Dhaid GC5YPVK
Flag Square - Khor Fakkan GC627DN
Flag Square - Dibba Al Hisn (This cache)
Flag Square - Kalba GC61G74
Flag Square - Bonus GC627E3
All caches are micro sized due to the high-muggle areas in which they are placed. All have a bonus code on the container which, once all have been collected, can be used to find the bonus cache. Please inform if any codes are found to be missing so that they can be replaced.
