ADAM'S CALENDAR
A dramatic view of Adam’s Calendar showing the carved edge of the front stone. It seems the front stone was positioned so that the right edge caught the setting sun in the summer months. After this the left edge was carved to the exact point so that it would cast a shadow on the flat calendar rock during the winter months.
The monoliths of the calendar are dolerite and the only dolerite vein is about 5km away, meaning that the rocks that weigh as much as 5 tons were somehow carried all the way to that precise place for a particular alignment.
Since the "discovery" of these stones with it's significance of being an ancient calendar, there were a lot of debating about the age and how it was determined and who build it. There are believers and skeptics about this and you can do more internet research on the subject for yourself to form your own opinion.
